THE 1ST WORLDWIDE MOBILE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND RECYCLING

The 1st WORLDWIDE MOBILE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND RECYCLING has been developed by the ‘Individual Alternative Packaging Management System’ by AB Vassilopoulos, approved by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, with a view to cultivating pupils’ environmental awareness and educating the public on sustainable development and circular economy.

The double-decker bus, with the design, ownership and industrial patent belonging to TEXAN, has been traveling across Greece and in an original way, has encouraged everyone and mainly young children to be informed, to recycle( since an automated recycling machine of plastic and metal packages is available on board the bus) and to participate in interactive actions on environmental protection. It is an innovative and creative means of fostering environmental awareness, being a critical factor for a better future.

The electric power needed to operate the automated Rewarding Recycling machine for metal and plastic packaging and the audiovisual media of the MOBILE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND RECYCLING is provided by a special photovoltaic panels system, fired by solar energy, thus constituting a unique example of ‘green and eco-friendly action’. TEXAN SA is also a pioneer in the transportation of pupils and teachers to and from the point of operation of the mobile center.

With its journey already under way having visited many Greek cities since 2018, the pilot educational center contributes to instilling the environmental awareness into the minds of young and older people making them aware of how, by changing habits in their lives, they take an essential step towards environmental protection.

The specialized training team shall convey the principles of recycling, in a sustainable manner through:

  • educational activities
  • Abundant, specially designed material

helping our little friends:

  • know what recyclable materials are
  • learn smart ways to recycle in their daily lives
  • become familiar with the concept of recycling as a process and as a practice of great importance for the environment
  • realize the importance of recycling as a means for a greener planet

Step 1 – We recycle!

The first level of the Center involves the practical environmental education of the recycling process.

By using the automated Rewarding Recycling machine for metal and plastic packaging, students learn practical issues related to Recycling.

Step 2 – We turn recycling into knowledge!

The second level (floor) involves the implementation of theoretical environmental education on Recycling. Through a specially designed audiovisual educational material, our little friends gain important and reliable knowledge about environmental protection and recycling.
