The history of TEXAN SA dates back to the 1980s with the establishment of the Environmental Protection and Solid Waste Recycling Company LTD-- headquartered in Athens. The founder of the company was Mr. Loukas Mourgos.
The company holds a leading position in the packaging recycling sector by placing, operating and marketing the cutting-edge technology 'Integrated Rewarding Recycling Centers', consisting of automated state-of-the-art technology recycling machines.
Numbering almost 10 years at the Company’s helm, the two sons of Mr. Loukas Mourgos, took over the management and set up TEXAN Company. Mr. Apostolos Mourgos, as Chairman, and Dr.
The US company ENVIPCO (Environmental Products Company) in Connecticut of the United States, active in many countries around the world, is the recognized leader in the development and operation of Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs), which are technologically automated recovery systems for used packaging.
A milestone year for TEXAN SA, having a long-term and dynamic partnership with AB Vassilopoulos S.A., it organizes and implements for AB Vassilopoulos, the only ‘Individual Alternative Packaging Management System’ in Greece and Europe of private label and AB import products bearing the formal approval by the MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY
In 2007, for the first time worldwide, TEXAN and ALPHA BANK inaugurated ¨a Mobile Integrated Rewarding Recycling Center¨, at the Sports Panorama in Nea Makri, Attica.
In 2007, the popular artist Michalis Hadzigiannis was proclaimed by TEXAN in co-operation with the Municipality of Athens and Love Radio 97,5 as "a Supporter of the Recycling Concept".
The culminating event of the "Great Recycling Celebration of the Municipality of Athens" was held on Sunday 6 April 2008 in Syntagma Square, with the presentation of the Integrated Rewarding Recycling Program.
The 1st worldwide mobile "Center for Environmental Education and Recycling", with the design, ownership and industrial patent belonging to TEXAN, was first presented to the public and journalists at an extremely successful event entitled #allazoumesiniies, held on Tuesday 20 March 2018 in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens.
At a time when Greece needs new investments, on December 5, 2019 a significant direct investment was launched in our country. It was with great success and in the presence of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis and also of the US Ambassador to Greece, Mr Geoffrey R.
