TEXAN participated as a sponsor in the conference “Central Macedonia on a Fast Forward track”, held on Monday, May 12 2025, at Thessaloniki Fair-HELEXPO, by the newspaper Macedonia & emakedonia.gr.
The President of ΤΕΧΑΝ, Mr. Apostolos Mourgos, who participated in the 3rd section on “the challenge of sustainable development”, said the following:
🔹 The Group’s steady and long-term investment in the creation of high-tech recycling infrastructure that currently includes more than 400 state-of-the-art Multi-purpose Recycling Centers throughout Greece.
🔹The progress of the implementation of projects with measurable Social & Environmental footprint.
🔹In the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 2024:
1. More than 5,200 tons of materials were collected
2. 63,500,000 pieces of recyclable materials were recycled
3. They were awarded to citizens through the 1,900,000 € cash vouchers for free purchases at cooperating supermarkets.
Thessaloniki is for us a model of cooperation with the local Government where one of the most extensive green networks has been developed with 48 Recycling Multi-purpose Recycling Centers & 8 Integrated Recycling Corners, managing 9 different streams of materials.
The Conference was attended by: Mr. Christos Dimas, Minister of infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas , European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Mr. Kostas Yutikas Deputy Head of the Metropolitan Unity of Thessaloniki, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis, Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Georgos Dimarelos Deputy Mayor for Cleaning, Recycling and Climate Protection, Mr. Michalis Geranis, President of FODSA (Peloponnese's Solid Waste Management Body of Central Macedonia and Mr. Ioannis Androulakis, President of the Green Fund.
