TEXAN:
Official presentation
Of the New First Mobile Multi-purpose PV Recycling Center
At the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair
TEXAN participates in the 89th TIF from September 6th to14th, with the New First Mobile Multi-purpose PV Recycling Center – the World’s First Mobile Multi-purpose Energy-Autonomous Recycling Center.
TEXAN once again had a significant presence this year as a key sponsor at the Economist Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit.
TEXAN, the leading Greek company in recycling with sorting at source and in circular economy, presented for the first time the New Mobile Multi-purpose PV Recycling Center – the World’s First Mobile Multi-purpose Energy-Autonomous Recycling Center, at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair.
This is a global innovation, with the New Photovoltaic Mobile Multi-purpose Recycling Center being the next step in the circular economy. It is fully energy-independent thanks to solar panels and stores electricity in a battery array for uninterrupted operation. This Center is designed specifically for islands, coastal areas, smaller cities, towns, mass catering venues, as well as concerts, beaches, festivals and events, where the possibility of permanent infrastructure installation is not offered. Plastic and metal materials are recycled in this Multi-purpose Center.
In the context of a formal presentation to media representatives held on Sunday 7 September at 89th TIF, the President of TEXAN, Mr. Apostolos Mourgos stated the following:
“The key message is that recycling is entering a new era, with Greece positioned to set an example. As pioneers in the circular economy and environmental innovation, we are committed to offering solutions that make a difference. The New Photovoltaic Mobile Multi-purpose Recycling Center is the next step. The future of recycling and sustainable development is here.” He also added the following: “We are here to contribute to the national effort toward achieving the European objectives. By 2025, the EU has set a target for each member state to achieve a 50% recycling rate for plastic, metal, and glass materials. Greece currently stands at 19%, so it goes without saying that we should all try to improve this rate. Together with Giannis Antetokounmpo, TEXAN Recycling Ambassador in Greece, as well as with all of you, we want and can make it happen. Because, as Giannis tells us: In Recycling we are all a team. We are TEXAN!“
In addition, TEXAN participated dynamically this year as main sponsor in 5th Economist Thessaloniki Metropolitan Summit, supporting the institution for 5 consecutive years. On Friday, September 5, Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos, Managing Director of TEXAN, participated in the panel entitled “Business and Innovation in an Emerging Investment Hub”, together with the Deputy Minister of National Economy & Finance Mr. Nikos Papathanassis, the President of the Federation of Industries of Greece Mrs. Loukia Sarantis, the Vice President of Eldorado Gold & President of Hellas Gold
Mr. Christos Balaskas and the Managing Director of Sani/Ikos Group Andreas Andreadis.
The discussion underscored the investment opportunities and challenges of the circular economy in today’s economic and geopolitical environment.
Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos stated the following: “Our goal is to create an economic model that ensures sustainable development, with long-term solutions to modern challenges. TEXAN consistently invests in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives across the environment, education, health, and society, while placing strong emphasis on human resources. It has already created nearly 600 new jobs, with a target of reaching 1,000 by early 2026. This year’s presentation of the World’s First Mobile Multi-purpose PV Recycling Center, a project by Greek engineers from the “Research and Development – R&D Department” of TEXAN at its plant in Pallini, which is already planned to be exported to European markets, proves that Greece can be a stable investment destination, with innovative solutions generating value for society and the environment”.
The Multi-purpose Recycling Centers of TEXAN are located in more than 500 locations throughout Greece: In the Municipality of Athens and in Municipalities of the Region of Attica, in the Municipality of Piraeus, in the Municipality of Thessaloniki, in the region of Peloponnese, in Crete, in the Municipality of Chalkida and is expected to expand to other regions and municipalities of Greece.
