TEXAN: This 1st National Secondary School Recycling Championship in full swing
Giannis Antetokounmpo encourages every student "BECOME AN MVP OF RECYCLING" - "WIN AND COME TO WATCH ME LIVE AT AN NBA GAME!"
The “1st Panhellenic School Recycling Championship” organized by TEXAN S.A., a pioneer in the field of circular economy and recycling, is full underway. The initiative is part of the company’s firm commitment to enhancing environmental education and will run until 15 May 2026.
The “1st National School Recycling Championship” takes place in the context of the announcement of Giannis Antetokounmpo as the “Most Valuable Protector of Recycling in Greece” — essentially, the MVP of recycling in our country.
It is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Environment & Energy and aims to raise awareness and active participation of young people and especially students throughout the country, in the process of recycling.
The “1st National School Recycling Championship” is open to students from classes of lower and upper secondary schools (Gymnasiums and Lyceums).
The competition will be held at the Multi-purpose Recycling Centers installed at various locations across participating Municipalities as shown on the website www.recycling-center.gr.
Students can return plastic, metal, and glass materials to the Recycling Multi-purpose Recycling Centers.
At the conclusion of the recycling process for all plastic, metal, and glass materials at the Multi-purpose Recycling Centers, the participant’s voucher of participation in the "1st National School Recycling Championship" is automatically printed.
PRIZES
“The grand gift-prize of the “1st National School Recycling Championship”, awarded to six (6) school classes—specifically, the top class from each grade—that recycle the largest amount of materials, is the following:
One (1) 5-day trip* to the USA for all students of the winning class in each Secondary Education grade, to see Giannis Antetokounmpo play live in an NBA game.
In the "1st National School Recycling Championship", the winning school classes in each grade nationwide will be designated as the "MVP School Classes of Recycling" and will be declared the primary school departments as follows:
i. The top-ranking class among all 1st-grade Gymnasium classes
ii. The top-ranking class among all 2nd-grade Gymnasium classes
iii. The top-ranking class among all 3rd-grade Gymnasium classes
iv. The top-ranking class among all 1st-grade Lyceum classes
v. The top-ranking class among all 2nd-grade Lyceum classes
vi. The top-ranking class among all 3rd-grade Lyceum classes
