6th High School of Acharnes

The “1st National School Recycling Championship” organized by TEXAN, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Environment & Energy is well underway.
 

Every day, hundreds of students from schools participating in the Competition visit TEXAN’s Multi-purpose Recycling Centers, recycle plastic, metal, and glass materials, and move one step closer to the journey to America!
 

State Onassis School of Xirokrinis, Thessaloniki

As part of their participation, students are encouraged to collect and recycle materials not only from their homes, but also from relatives, friends, and their neighborhood, as well as from local shops, thereby strengthening the collective effort to promote recycling and environmental awareness.

Students from all classes of Lower and Upper Secondary Schools can participate in the “1st National School Recycling Championship”. This championship is held in the context of the announcement by Giannis Antetokounmpo as “Most Valuable Protector of Recycling in Greece”, i.e. MVP of Recycling in our country. 


It aims to raise awareness and to actively involve young people, especially students, throughout the country, in the process of recycling.
The initiative is part of the company’s firm commitment to enhancing environmental education and will run until 15 May 2026.

PRIZES

The grand gift-prize of the “1st National School Recycling Championship”, awarded to six (6) school classes—specifically, the top class from each grade—that recycle the largest number of materials, is the following:


One (1) 5-day trip* to the USA for all students of the winning class in each Secondary Education Grade, to see Giannis Antetokounmpo play live in an NBA game.
 
In the "1st National School Recycling Championship", the winning school classes in each grade nationwide will be designated as the "MVP School Classes of Recycling", i.e will be declared as the winning school classes as follows: 

i.    The top-ranking class among all 1st-grade High School classes
ii.    The top-ranking class among all 2nd-grade High School classes 
iii.   The top-ranking class among all 3rd-grade High School classes 
iv.   The top-ranking class among all 1st-grade Lyceum classes 
v.    The top-ranking class among all 2nd-grade Lyceum classes 
vi.   The top-ranking class among all 3rd-grade Lyceum classes
