The “Integrated Rewarding Recycling Program of the Ministry of National Defense” has been launched with great success, with the Ministry of National Defense cooperating with the non-profit-making national body, REWARDING RECYCLING and the American company ENVIPCO.
The Ministry of National Defense wishes to contribute to strengthening its social contribution, both in local communities where it makes available areas of its own responsibility, and in the wider society, and to actively participate in actions of environmental interest.
The “Rewarding Recycling Program” started with the installation of the 1st Integrated Rewarding Recycling Center within the Ministry premises and concerns the packaging recycling.
The Program’s innovation and uniqueness is the application of'Sorting at Source', while providing a rewarding consideration of EUR 3 cents per metal, plastic and glass packaging.
The total rewarding fee will be used to strengthen the social actions undertaken by the Ministry of National Defense.
The project was launched by the Minister for National Defense, Mr. Panos Kammenos. On his initiative, the “Integrated Rewarding Recycling Program of the Ministry of National Defense” was launched
The event was honored by the presence of the former US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, who stressed that today's celebration marks another success, underlining the strong relationship between USA and Greece on multiple fronts, including the important trade and investment sector. He also underscored the importance of the production of the high American recycling machine technology of ENVIPCO in Greece, making Greece a hub for the entire Europe.
Moreover, the event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Collective System of REWARDING RECYCLING, Mr. Pavlos Ravanis; he expressed his pride, that, with the contribution of REWARDING RECYCLING, approved by the Ministry of Environment and Energy for the development of packaging recycling in our country, this innovative packaging Recycling Program regarding packages disposed of at the premises of the National Defense Ministry, is put into practice. He also underlined that the national body assumes the obligation and responsibility to contribute to the change of environmental behavior and to people’s daily participation in the recycling process through a new rewarding model.
