TEXAN S.A. participated as Gold Sponsor in the "34th Greek Economic Summit | GES2023", which was successfully organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Athens Stock Exchange, on 4-5 December 2023 at Athenaum Intercontinental Hotel.
Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos, Managing Director of TEXAN participated as keynote speaker in the panel “FOSTERING a SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN GREECE: THE ROLE OF INDUSTRY AND MANUFACTURING" together with the following distinguished personalities: Mr. Kostas Skrekas, Minister for Development, Mr. Nikitas Pothoulaki, Vice President & Managing Director, Barba Stathis, Mr. Konstantinos Koukountzos Managing Director, Kleemann Hellas.
Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos declared the following: "Greece can competitively produce and this is exactly what TEXAN is doing. Greece was chosen for the 1st investment in the production of high-tech recycling machines beyond the borders of America; therefore, indeed Greece can innovate, pioneer utilizing an extremely high level of human resources creating added value in the country. Indeed, the circular economy and sustainable development sector has taken many important growth steps in our country. Our country is now an attractive destination, generating income and creating jobs. Our Group has already announced – and is implementing – that from 2023 to 2026 will create 1000 new green jobs, which is what is needed, in order to strengthen social cohesion, reinforce young people who join a new sector of development, being the circular economy sector. Recycling lies at the core of this sector."
Moreover, Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos warmly thanked the Minister of Development Mr. Kostas Skrekas stating the following: We would like to warmly thank the Minister, Mr. Kostas Skrekas, who is on the panel today for having contributed to the formation of an excellent institutional framework in our country and one of the best in Europe, both from his previous position as Minister of Environment & Energy and for the policies he has designed in his new capacity as Minister of Development contributing to sustainable development and investment. For businesses to grow and do business, they need a competent and stable institutional framework. We are fortunate to have Mr. Skrekas because he really changed the environment in the recycling sector and in the circular economy sector, so that Greece can attract investments in this sector being also an excellent overall governmental policy.
