TEXAN Envipco Group of Companies dynamically participated as a Platinum Sponsor in the 26th Economist Government Roundtable, held from 5 to 7 July at Grand Resort Lagonissi on "Contrasts, transformations and achievements in a changing world".
This year's Economist conference was attended by powerful personalities from Greece and abroad: Heads of State, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, members of the Government and the opposition party, high ranking officials of the business world from Greece and abroad, heads of international organizations, representatives of the Academic community and Communication. The aim was to have a fruitful and meaningful dialog on key issues and thematic units affecting the global economy as well as the global Community.
In the context of the conference , Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos, CEO of TEXAN Envipco Hellas Group participated on Wednesday 6 July in the “TRANSFORMERS AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN GREECE’S BUSINESS SECTOR - Paving the way towards a new growth model”, together with Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, Minister for Development and Investments, Mr. Stavros Konstantas, CEO of the National Insurance AEGA, Mr. Kostas Axarloglou, Rector and Professor of International Business and Strategy, Alba Graduate Business School, the American College of Greece, Mr. Juerg Steffen, Group CEO, Henley and Partners & Mr. Greg O’Hara, Founder & Senior Managing Director, Centares. The panel co-ordinator was Ms Joan Hoey, Director, Europe, the Economist Intelligence Unit Editor, the Democracy Index.
In his speech, Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos announced new investments in co-operation with American companies in the recycling and circular economy sector. He also referred to the role of the Americans in TEXAN investments in the recycling sector and thanked the outgoing USA Ambassador Geoffrey Payatt for the cooperation between TEXAN and Envipco. ‘Mr. Payatt is the person who worked to bring this investment to Greece and not to another country in Europe," said Dr. Mourgos. He also argued that investments in recycling and the circular economy are necessary and pointed out that Greece is significantly lagging behind in this area. However, he clarified that with the assistance by the United States as geostrategic ally, the country could create high value and many jobs.
Referring to the Minister for Development and Investments, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, he stressed that almost the entire business community agrees that he is the right man in the right place. "The minister is the institutional interlocutor of all investors and is the man who, with his services, is trying in a transparent, efficient and quick way to solve the problems of any new investment in the country," stressed Dr. P. Mourgos and added the following: "With constant, systematic and silent work, he has succeeded, in cooperation with the Prime Minister, Mr. Mitsotakis, to make Greece an attractive investment destination.
In the area of recycling and circular economy, I would like to point out that the excellent cooperation between the two ministers involved, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis And Mr. Kostas Skrekas, has attracted new investments in the recycling sector," announcing even more investments, but also jobs in the green economy that will be announced shortly. Therefore, the domestic economy and sustainable growth are strengthened.
