TEXAN Group was also the conference's Silver Sponsor, while the CEO of the TEXAN Group, Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos participated in a panel on 'Circular Economy and the New Global Environment', discussing inter alia with Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, Minister for Development and Investment. Dr. Panagiotis Mourgos stated the following: "As TEXAN Envipco Group we are proud to support the 6th Sustainability Summit by the Economist as Silver Sponsors. We are particularly proud that we are contributing this to be the first Economist conference to be ZERO WASTE. We have installed cutting-edge American technology recycling machines to collect all plastic, aluminum and glass packaging produced during the conference. We have placed separate collection bins to collect the paper produced by the conference's works. At the same time, we have also placed brown bins for collecting bio-waste. So, we really illustrate in this conference that ZERO WASTE approach, the circular economy, is a reality; it is a need, but also an opportunity enabling all of us to easily, consciously participate in this process. (…). There are considerable resources to promote recycling both at the level of the Regions and at the level of Municipalities and central Government. There is therefore a planning that provides all the weapons, all the tools for developing recycling in our country and the results are already visible. In this way, our country becomes a truly good European practice. I must also point out that all this is done with the involvement of society; therefore, social cohesion is a key parameter which all of us, the government, politicians and businesses must take seriously into consideration. We are living in a tough period, an era full of social, political and economic challenges. We, as TEXAN Envipco Group have a major program of social responsibility under way, which will donate €1.000.000 to four pillars: environment, health, education and local communities. Because businesses should really feel the social responsibility and how we could strengthen these efforts. So, all together, State, Government, Businesses, Employees, Social Bodies, we can and must contribute to a sustainable environment and sustainable development in our country and it seems we can do it."
