“The success of the 1st National Secondary Education School Recycling Championship demonstrates that, when given the right incentives, young people can become the most powerful ambassadors for environmental change and sustainability.
The appointment of Giannis Antetokounmpo as MVP (Most Valuable Protector) of Recycling in Greece was the starting point of a major national effort to strengthen environmental awareness in our country. Through his athletic journey, his values, and his international recognition, Giannis embodies the power of hard work, teamwork, and giving back to society—values that are fully aligned with TEXAN's philosophy.
More than 87 million materials returned by students to TEXAN’s Multi-purpose Recycling Centers are not just an impressive number. "It sends a clear message that the younger generation both wants to and can shape a better future for everyone."
The expanded network of the state-of-the-art recycling centers of TEXAN, which numbers more than 500 points throughout Greece, was the main mechanism for the success of the Championship.
Students gained first-hand experience of the value of recycling through ‘sorting at source’ and discovered how technology can be connected to sustainable development.
TEXAN SA goal is to shape a future where recycling is an integral part of everyday life. We remain firmly committed to investing in initiatives that encourage citizen participation, with a particular focus on engaging the younger generation.
Because as Giannis Antetokounmpo says:
“In recycling we are all a team! We are TEXAN!”
