Apostolos Mourgos, President of TEXAN:
"We are strengthening 'Brain Gain' with green jobs and investments in the circular economy and recycling."
TEXAN supports the National "Brain Gain" Strategy and participated on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in the 1st "Career Day" abroad (Düsseldorf, Germany). TEXAN took the lead and offered over 200 job opportunities to young professionals from the diaspora, encouraging them to return and contribute to the development of our country Over 1,600 Greek professionals from Germany attended the 1st "Career Day" and visited TEXAN's booth, where they were informed about the company's work and the high-specialization job opportunities in the fields of recycling and green technologies, which are key to the green transition!
According to Eurostat data announced by the Ministry of Finance in the spring of 2024, of the 680,000 Greek citizens who left our country during the economic crisis, more than 350,000 have already returned, based on estimates from the Bank of Greece. This means that so far, more than 50% of those who had left have returned. The timing, therefore, could not be better for TEXAN’s participation and contribution to the National Strategy “Brain Gain”.
The event was organized by the Public Employment Service (DYPA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of the Minister of Labour and Social Security Niki Kerameos, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Kotsiras, the Governor of DYPA, Spyros Protopsalti, the Secretary General for Labour Relations, Nikos Milapidis and the Consul General of Greece in Dusseldorf, Vassilis Koinis. The event brought together 51 leading companies and presented over 1,200 offered jobs, showcasing the excellent opportunity for foreign professionals to return to Greece and contribute to its development.
The President of ΤΕΧΑΝ, Mr. Apostolos Mourgos stated the following: “At TEXAN, we actively support the National "Brain Gain" Strategy by investing in sustainable development through innovative circular economy solutions, such as the state-of-the-art Multi-purpose Recycling Centers that we exclusively operate in our country. Our goal is to provide opportunities for Greek professionals abroad to return and build a better future in our country. With a commitment to sustainable development, we plan to create 1,000 new "green" jobs by 2026, enhancing innovation and environmental responsibility. TEXAN is ready to lead this change, focusing on the green transition and the creation of high-value jobs.”
