TEXAN is a key player in the Greek economy
Distinction in the category “Greek Business Champions”
TEXAN S.A. has received yet another distinction. The company manufactures in Greece the high-tech American ENVIPCO multi-purpose recycling centers—an industry leader in the design and operation of automated machines for the recycling of plastic, metal, and glass packaging.
TEXAN was honored in the “GREEK BUSINESS CHAMPIONS” category at the 2025 “Protagonists of the Greek Economy” awards, as in the last two published financial statements it achieved an increase in its turnover by 316%, with a corresponding increase in profit before tax by 473%. In addition to significant economic performance, TEXAN’s most important achievement, with a strong social impact, is its commitment to creating 90 new jobs by investing in the manufacturing plant of automatic recycling machines. Already, TEXAN has created more than 550 full-time jobs, with the aim of reaching 1,000 by 2026.
This distinction was based on economic criteria, as published by Direction Business Reports, and concerns businesses with a turnover of more than EUR 10 million and with an annual increase of more than 20%, both in turnover and pre-tax profits.
This award comes to confirm the sound, sustainable and consistent development of TEXAN in recent years, in an environment with increasing challenges and significant opportunities. The company’s business strategy, spearheaded by technology, innovation and investment in infrastructure and human capital, has managed to highlight recycling not only as an environmental choice, but as a key pillar for the economic and industrial development of the country.
The President of TEXAN, Mr. Apostolos Mourgos stressed that this distinction is not only an honor but also a commitment for the company. He stressed that TEXAN invests consistently in innovation and development, giving absolute priority to responsibility toward society, the economy and the environment. Among other initiatives, special mention was made of initiatives with significant social footprint, such as the Major Educational Recycling Competitions, the Nationwide School Recycling Championship, and the appointment of Giannis Antetokounmpo as the "Recycling MVP" — initiatives that connect the younger generation with the values of the circular economy.
